Hits:

  • Lipstick formulation is nice for the price.
  • Color payoff is really nice.
  • The finish may vary depending on the shades. I noticed that pale shades run matte and brighter shades have a satin finish. The orangey shades displays a frost finish.
  • I like how this lipstick taste and smell, very minty. You know how you reapply your lipstick after a meal? Well this is a nice minty lipstick that makes your lips feel refreshed after munching.
  • Staying power is so-so. The darker shades stain.
  • The pale shades may come off streaky but will be opaque on your second layer.

Misses:

  • Only available from online stores here in the country since it is UK-based.
  • I particulary find the pale shades drying. But over a balm, no problem!

I am giving away 4 BeautyUK Lipsticks to lucky winner!

Z Palette Review + Birthday Giveaway #2

Sometimes you get sucked in a product because of its pretty packaging (that includes me!). Whether it be cute, dainty or feels luxurious, you just have to get it and include it in your collection. I know for sure that if it is Chanel or Dior or any high end brand, you will keep the packaging even if you've managed to hit the pan. You will never dare to depot it unless you're a MUA who badly needs to maximize traincase space. To mention, you paid so much for that packaging and that Chanel or Dior logo on that compact/bottle.

The problem comes in when you have to travel. You can't bring a lot and you have to choose from your collection, which ones to bring and ones to leave. You are excused for bringing your nice compacts. But for things you can chuck out the packaging and save the product, there is a nice way of storing and organizing them in a compact palette. This means you can bring a variety of colors with you for when you're traveling.

I personally use the Z Palette...

My Large Zebra Print Z Palette containing Etude House Blushers

You can easily see what's inside. Thanks to the transparent cover.

Although I noticed the transparent acrylic cover gets translucent with use. And it gets easily scratched. :(

You can make it stand too! Though I don't know why you need to make it stand. haha

The magnetic bottom makes it easier to stick metal pans. No magnetic tape needed!
Back of the Large Zebra Print Z Palette

I depotted all of my Etude House Face Color Corsets and Lovely Cookie Blushers and placed it in a large zebra print Z Palette. This way I can bring all the blushers without the bulky packaging. It saves me A LOT of space and I can bring more stuff in my makeup bag! I have also tried melting lipsticks and placing them in metal pans so I can organize them in a Z Palette. This is a nice way of organizing and saving space.

My small pink Z Palette with some of my lippies.

I can store a total of 16 lipsticks using metal pans from Z Palette too.

Again, it has a transparent cover.

Back of the Z Palette

As I have told you, I'm not a fan of lipsticks so I only have a few. And the ones I depotted were from NYX and BeautyUK. My sister is the complete opposite of me. She loves collecting lipsticks and here are some of her lipsticks in a large black Z Palette. Lippies are from NYX, Models Owns, Beauty UK and Lime Crime. By the way, she sells NYX and Lime Crime lippies on her online shop, Starmaine Cay

My Z Palette containing melted lipsticks from NYX, BeautyUK, Limecrime, etc.

Things I like about the Z Palette...

  • SPACE SAVER!
  • sturdy and keeps pressed powders intact
  • good for travels
  • has a magnetic bottom so no need for magnetic stickers
  • if you have a product placed in a plastic container, magnetic stickers are available
  • available in different sizes (small, large and PRO size)
  • comes in different prints
  • and last but not the least, BIODEGRADABLE

In another post, I'm going to show you how I depotted some shadows, blushers and lipsticks. For sure, it will be one hell of a long post as I will be demonstrating it to you. haha

I have also found another palette similar to the Z Palette which is the UNI Palette. Personally, I like the UNI Palette's design better. It looks sleek! Big difference is that Z Palette is mostly made of hard board and plastic & the UNI one is all out plastic plus mirror. I would love to try the UNI Palette but given the Z Palette is Earth friendly, I can sacrifice the mirror from the UNI. ;)

Would you love to try the Z Palette?

Neon on Neon Outfit

Print on Print is a fashion no-no before. But now, it has been trending. Coming up with a look using clothes of different prints is now acceptable! What about Neon on Neon?

Today, one of my sister's gift for my birthday came in. Its a neon floral shorts with neon belt from the Trunk Show. Saw my sister's neon floral shorts in pink and I loved the color  for her and not for me. As I have told you in a recent blog post, I normally stick to the neutral palette. haha Asked her whether she feels comfortable in it and she answered yes. Tried her pair which is a bit big for me and I totally want to get it. I am picky when it comes to shorts because I have a very petite frame and wiry chicken legs. Most shorts don't flatter my body. But this high waisted pair looked decent on me!

And another thing why I'm not so decided to get this for myself is because I don't trust online shopping for clothes. I normally go to boutiques especially to Topshop because their stuff fit me best among other brands. They have clothes for petites!

Well sister assured me the small size from Trunk Show will fit me as the medium fit her perfectly.

Impromptu fitting again in my sister's room. Well, I just came home from work. :)

Here are some shots...

Neon Floral Shorts in Yellow, 680php

Front

Back

Neon Sansa, 1200php

OTHER STUFF WORN:

- White Shirt from MUJI
-Diamond Necklace, from our jewelry shop
-Brazilet in Blue
- Rolex Lady President Watch

So there you go...

I highly recommend these shorts for petite girls like me who find it hard to get a decent one. The fabric feels nice for the price and it comes with a neon belt. I think its is available in yellow and pink.

And the Neon Sansa pair is my sister's. I wore it for the sake of the photos. haha If I will wear this out, I'd pick some flats. ;) But I have to say these shoes are lightweight and soled nicely.

Both shorts and shoes are available from Trunk Show.

I am in no way affiliated with Trunk Show. I just think the items from this shop are worth writing a post for!

Love,
Anna

Oh yeah! haha

A Jumpsuit is another story!

I am in no way blessed with a good fashion sense. I prefer comfort over fashion. My boyfriend would even tell me how 'manang' I dress most of the time. Can't blame him though! I am aware I am one 'Plain Jane'. haha It is likely that you will see me in a shirt or tank top with my cuffed jeans.

If my work only requires that I wear a uniform, I will obediently and willingly comply! That would save me from my morning dilemma of dressing up. But I co-manage a small jewelry store with my father and I am not required to wear uniform. :(

I am trying my best to put efforts in the way I dress and I have my highs & lows (mostly lows!). haha And yes I do select my own clothes and the way that I cheat is by looking at what the mannequins of the boutique wear, I am one copycat! haha I am also not a happy hippie person to try out clothes it fitting rooms. I just get easily tired of changing! So I always try to remember what size I am in a certain brand. When I see a cute top, I get it in my size without fitting it. But when it comes to jeans, I have to always use the fitting room.

Just recently I passed by a Just G boutique and I saw a jumpsuit on their mannequin. The jumpsuit's fabric looks so soft and yet it looks so preppy on the dressform. But HELLO?! Me in a jumpsuit? Who am I fooling? The only thing that got me to try it is how soft the fabric looks. Gave it a try and I just love it. It feels really comfortable when worn. I wouldn't have thought I will feel comfortable in a jumpsuit.

I like Just G with their trendy and girly clothes for a really affordable price. I think this jumpsuit only cost me 1200php. Fairly cheap for a nice and well-sewed jumpsuit!

When I got home, i fitted it once again and showed to my sister for some advice (yes, I seek help from my younger sister when it comes to dressing up). haha She said it looks fine on me, a little to baggy but would do.

Sorry for the zombie look. Have not been sleeping so well lately! This is an impromptu shoot so excuse my minimal makeup look because I just came home from work and I don't wear makeup to work all the time. This is just one of my lazy days of just blush and lipstick!

Here is how I would style my jumpsuit... (it still feels awkward that I am doing a fashion post! XD)

Style #1

What I'm wearing: Just G jumpsuit, Forever21 sandals (gift from my sister), Ice watch, Diamond Stud (from our jewelry store), Diamond Necklace (from our jewelry store) and NYX Chic Red on my lips (from Starmaine Cay)

Style #1

Style #2

What I'm wearing: Just G Jumpsuit, Forever21 Sandals, Chanel purse, Diamond Stud (from our jewelry store), Diamond Necklace (from our jewelry store) and NYX Chic Red on my lips (from Starmaine Cay)

Style #2

There you go! This is a very non-pro fashion post. Forgive me lovely ladies! I highly welcome comments on how I could wear this jumpsuit better. I badly need help in this department. I do not wish to be Laureen Uy or Kryz Uy (fashion bloggers). I just wish I had better sense when in comes to fashion. My sister styled the second look so thanks Mhen.

And you Lovelies, would you wear a jumpsuit?

Love,
Anna

Minimal makeup: Just blush and lipstick!

This is my sister's room! :D

Most Worn Things for Everyday + Birthday Giveaway #1

There are things you don't forget to bring EVERY SINGLE TIME you leave your house. Whether it'll be for work or just for errands. And if ever you leave anything from that list, you get this feeling you left a part of yourself in your house. haha I know this is also the part of me when I get OC over things. I just have to have them or else I feel incomplete.

These are the things I don't forget to bring when I leave the house...

Watch: Ice Watch

This is my everyday watch. It is black, I can wear with almost anything. I have tiny wrists so the biggest size I can go for is the smallest Ice watch. Think this is a junior size. haha Boyfriend has a matching one in White. I always get teased by Tatay (Father) for wearing this watch because there are so many cheap imitations of this watch. And also because selling lux watches is included in the family business so you know what I mean. I just don't care, I love it! haha I can bang my hand anywhere without worrying it might break. haha

Earrings: Diamond Stud Earrings

Now I don't remove this from the ears. haha I think it already needs cleaning! I like this piece a lot because it looks so simple and elegant. This goes with everything I wear. Roughly 33 points each stud in White Gold setting. Sorry for the blurry photo! :)

Perfume/EDT: Benefit Ring My Bella

Was originally looking for the Stella McCartney Nude perfume but I can't find it everywhere. It is phased out in Rustan's or other fragrance bars I go to. 'Twas that time of the opening of the Benefit flagship store in Greenbelt, I found this one and it instantly 'somewhat' replaced my McCartney.

Hair Tie: Goody Slide Proof Hair Ties

This is the only hair tie that works for my hair. I mean, a hair tie that will not easily fall off whatever I do. So much for slideproof! I know price is pretty hefty for just a couple of hair ties but I promise these ones LAST. (Unless I forgot where I placed them which is usually the case XD) haha

Bag: Balenciaga Giant City in Rosegold hardware

I just love this bag! The fact it is black, it goes along with almost any outfit I want to wear. It is the perfect size for me. Looks small from the picture but I was intimidated by this size at first because it might look too baggy for my petite frame. With this, I get to bring the all important stuff I need for everyday. I can even fit my iPad in here. haha If its not that heavy, I carry it with the top handle. And for when I stuff it so much, I carry by the shoulder straps. You can see that this is starting to wear out. The leather is crinkling more than the distressed Balenciaga look and the corners are getting scuffed. This is also very special because it is a gift from Inay (mother).

Bracelet: Brazilet in blue color
It's the blue rugged looking tie on my wrist you see on swatch photos. Please fall off!!!
Lauren Conrad wearing a brazilet in orange.

Yes, I wear that every day... every night too! haha I don't take it off because I'm waiting for it to naturally fall off! That is its purpose. It came all the way from Brazil and its going to make my 3 wishes come true ;). Silly me! It is said....

"Brazilets are worn by wrapping around the wrist and tying three knots for three wishes; when the material wears down and the Brazilets fall off naturally, it is believed that the three wishes will come true. Thanks for joining a 200-year-old Brazilian tradition by wearing your wishes and supporting ours.*"

"*a portion of the proceeds from brazilets is dedicated to saving the brazilian rainforests through the nature conservancy's plantabillion.com"

It has been tied on my wrist for the past 6 months and I'm already growing impatient. haha Boyfriend has one too. Bought it from Lorraine Stanick, TheCurrentCustom in Youtube. She has a shop, Exit Art in Florida but you can also purchase through  http://thecurrentcustom.com/. It retails 4pcs for $25 if I remembered it right. >.<

I'm going to give one away for you my beloved readers.
